The inclusion of the nail in the periungual tissue often causes great discomfort.

The ideal intervention should include matricectomy as a solution when the condition recurs constantly.

Matricectomy can be performed using various techniques that include destruction of the nail matrix segment that is the source of the abnormal nail regrowth.

The CO2 laser-assisted technique enables visualization of the matrix and therefore access to its vaporization.
