Let’s talk about the bad results of electrolysis hair removal. Unlike laser hair removal, electrolysis does not act on the hairs that are below the surface. Therefore, a patient who had managed to be hair-free for a month will not achieve this result with electrolysis. Switching to electrolysis treatment becomes necessary when the amount of hair is not reduced with the laser. However, it is a very real complaint when the patient has delayed their next session, generally for more than two months. It is a fact that, after the electrolysis session, some hairs generally grow back, 15% of the treated hairs. The conditions for this to happen are:
- Electrodepilation is only possible when the hairs are at least one millimetre long.
- The presence of different hair thicknesses can lead to hairs that are actually thick not being treated.
- All treatment starters will have the possibility of having hairs at different stages of maturation.
- Electrolysis, like laser hair removal, will only be effective for hair in the active growth stage.
- Electrolysis is usually not complete.
- Taking photographs before and immediately after helps to leave evidence of the procedure. Not doing so prevents changing parameters.
The number of hairs to be removed by electrolysis.
When you ask why you have to pull out 4 hairs a month on your chin, you may only have 8 hairs. When you have to pull out 4 hairs a day, as much as possible, you have more than 300 hairs. When the daily number of hairs pulled is greater than 10, you will surely have more than 1000 hairs and your chin will look masculine.
Laser and electroepilation: Clinical studies on medical single laser hair removal
The option for people with thick, dense dark hair is laser. If the hair is white, electrolysis will be the best option.
The poor results of electrolysis are only demonstrated by proper recording of the session:
Not taking comparable photos has been our most frequent mistake. Photographs must be standardized because it is about taking photos of areas and not exclusively with hairs. The shots or framing of the photos must be comparable. The photographs must be edited to highlight the hairs.
